Day 1 @ NASA JPL as an Intern
I’m a freakin intern at NASA?? A couple of posts back I said I was interviewing for them and I actually didn’t make it during that round. Several months later, an amazing team reached out to me and here I am in my new apartment in Pasadena and am getting ready for my second day of work tomorrow. Crazy how life works. I didn’t have much going on today except for 3 short meetings! The first meeting was a Intern orientation with about 20+ other interns who had the same start date as me. We did an icebreaker and got an intro to life @ JPL. It was nice getting to hear where the other interns were remotely working. The next meeting was a quick welcome call with my hiring manager and my team lead. The final call was a meeting with my team lead where she talked to me about what my future work was going to look like and walked me through some onboarding documents I’ll have to tackle in the next few days. I’m super excited to be working on the Psyche Mission and apply the knowledge that I learned in the 20 credits I took this past semester. I’d like to commend myself for achieving the GPA that I wanted in this heavy load semester while balancing 4 jobs. I’m excited to learn so so much this summer while exploring what LA has to offer! I’m going to try to write as much as possible and hopefully have a daily recount of what will be an amazing summer. ❤ Toodle-loo
