Woo today was a little bit anxiety filled. Today I got to lead my very first Testbed Tools meeting that happens every Monday which usually consists of about 15 + people. I introduced myself, a new person who will be a part time tool smith, announcements, and intro’d Josh for his farewells. It’s definitely bittersweet because Josh has taught me so much and I’m a little scared I won’t be under his wings anymore but he has been such an amazing teacher that I have a good amount of confidence moving forward. Im going to make A LOT OF MISTAKES but also a few successes and that’s okay. Im going to learn a lot in these next few weeks and I couldn’t be more ready. During office hours, we went over how to fully deploy a tool on the command line so that everyone on the team has access to it through their command lines when running a testbed session. I plan to make a bunch of cheat sheets for different processes so that I can reference it without having to look through the wiki page. I set up a meeting with my wonderful mentor so that I could get some advice on how to effectively lead meetings a well as how to lead. She was more than happy to discuss that with me so that’s exciting. I also plan to set up a meeting with one of the core testbed engineers on the my team because he is incredibly knowledgeable and I always love picking the brains of people who are just so good at what they do. I really really hope to kick ass in this transition and learn soooo much. This week is going to be super busy so here’s to absolutely smashing it this week. wahoo ❤
