Surviving my first week as a NASA JPL intern Day 5

Aha..I’m actually writing this 2 days later. BUT I have a good excuse. First, let’s go through what I did this day. One skill that I’ve began implementing this week was using the stickies app on my work laptop splitting the tasks I had to do in groups of 3 so that it doesn’t seem as daunting and it actually made me more productive on that Friday. I would consider this week a really good week because I honestly learned so much in such a short amount of time and I’m actually able to explain it to people in a consumable way! The rest of the day consisted of sending emails and finishing the rest of my training videos. And then a wonderful software engineer on my team offered to show me the setup for powering the test bed which had to be cut short because I had to stop working at 5 that day but I actually learned a significant amount so I’m excited to recreate it next week. And then right after work, I got to meet for happy hour at this biergarten just 10 minutes away from my place a bunch of my coworkers and a couple of people woking on the Europa clipper team! It was an absolute blast being surrounded by such fun engineers who were so freakin welcoming, felt so heartwarming. It’s going to be a weekly recurring thing so I’m excited to meet and get to know more of them!! Oh also I have to mention that I had my first mess up this week where I worked more hours than I was supposed to for the day and actually got flagged by HR but my boss kindly approved it as over time. Thank you to my manager❤. I apologize for being a silly goose. This weekend is a holiday weekend so I have a paid Monday off which is so beautiful. I’ve been exploring downtown Pasadena and am going to Venice Beach tomorrow. woo. I’ll be back next Tuesday. ;) toodle loo.
